In search of pretty girl names....HAPPY FRIDAY THE 13TH!!/open

Well, I will be 19 weeks on sunday and I will be having my 20 week scan one week from today....Perhaps I should wait to post when I actually find out, but oh well, use as an open forum if you like.

I have a feeling I will be having a girl, I feel similar to when I was pregnant w/ my dd 2 years ago.(I could be totally wrong this time, mind you)..But I am having second thoughts about the girl names I have picked out. Besides that, Some in my family don't really like it, and I am getting sick of hearing how they don't like it, I have 4 months to go, and I don't think I can't take it.

I realize this gets posted a lot, but I really need help on some girl names. I would likes something really cute, but not too popular, but not too out there either. I am just stumped today! Maybe it is the Friday the 13th curse!! I am desperate for ideas...Thanks in advance for any ideas!!~bops

DH and I like old-fashioned names.  We are naming DD Anna Claire.  She is due July 29th.  We also talked about Rebecca, Grace, Madelyn, and Mackenzie.  Good luck picking a name.  That is part of the fun!

HA! I already have a Madelyn (spelled that exact way), so that one is out! LOL! :) We were thinking Makenna, but it is getting so popular, that now I am unsure...plus my family isn't too fond of it either, and they keep bugging me about it. I don't know what to do!! I definately like M names.

Hey there! That stinks that you have to wait another week to find out. I'm so anxious to find out and I only have 5 days left. My fiance and I have decided that if we have a girl that we're going to name her either Kyra Michelle or Kyra Nicole.

I have choosen Lillian Marie or Jordan Kathleen if its a girl and if its a boy Preston Lee!!!!!!  I am leaning more towards Lillian and calling her Lily!

well my name is dana i like that lol.  for a girl i have thought of the name sofie. jordan (husbands pick) i also like masculine names like charlie.  my girlfriends little girl is stevie and it fits her like a glove lol.  bella,  a girl i knew back when named her daughter franchesca.  i liked cadence but dh doesnt.  we dont like the same names much.  my moms dog is sadie i like that lol.  my moms pick is izzy, and sofie. my name books are old, i need to get a hip new one.

I maybe bias as I just named my 6wk old this but I think Isobella Grace is a pretty name! Our other choice when she was born was Julia Elynn...We had a suprise so when we found out it was a girl and she had lovely hair and a dainty face we called her Isobella....every1 writes it IsAbella but we like being original...she will get Bell or Bella and her aunty calls her Tinkerbell....lol

Thank you all, you had a lot of idea's. I thought Makenna (this is the name in question) was getting kinda popular, that is why I am sorta reconsidering.You have all given me a ton of ideas, thanks. I think it is funny that the name I picked for DD 2 years ago is so popular now-Madelyn Ava Rose. I even thought my spelling was unique, but I am seeing it spelled like this more and more. That is why I am hoping to find something a little more unique this time. Whoever suggested Orianna, I love that name and I have never heard it before. I asked DH last night thinking he would not care for it, and he really liked it too. I like Abigail, but it is very common, but I do love old fashioned names! Thanks again!

Perty-I didn't know your name was Dana. I always liked that name for a girl, But DH Works w/ a guy named Dana, and now I hear it all the time for a Guy, more than girls! I love the name Jordana, and that is your DH's pick and your name put together. That is funny! I have considered using that name, I just love it. I also considered Sophie. I think it is just an adorable name for a little girl!! Do you think you will be having a girl? I think I am, but maybe it is a bit of wishful thinking (I would love for Madelyn to have a lil' sis.)...Well, Maybe I will avoid all this trouble when I find out for sure next Friday...Maybe it will be a boy..I am stuck on a boy name for sure!! I have 4 daughters they are: Morgan Emily, Kirsten Olivia, Carys Eloise and Eden Hermione I'm almost 21 wks with a boy this time so we have to get our thinking caps on too!

Can I just add that almost noone liked the names I picked for my girls, but now they all say what pretty name thay have (-two faced or what!!) perhaps you should stilck with what you liked in the first place and tell everyone else to mind there own business. :) When I disclose the name I have chosen this time I'm going to warn people not to comment as I remember their reaction to my other name choices and now isn't it funny that they really like them (my eldest daughter is 12 this year! (Me & my good memory!)

Oh, my. We just decided our girl name will be Anna Josephine, thinking Anna is traditional but not too popular, and now everyone is posting that Anna is their girl name! Our boy name is Benjamin Samuel. We're not going to find out what we're having, so we picked one of each. My step-daughter is Morgan Elizabeth (don't like the name Morgan, personally, but it fits her). The other girl name I was considering is Lyla, which I love, but my husband does not. I also really like Isabelle, Abigail, Madeleine, Ella, Ellison, Claire, Bridget, Delaney, Grace, Hannah, Katharine, Liza, Avery, Charlotte, Meghan, and Stella. My friend is pregnant with a girl and will name her Macey, and another friend just had a girl and named her Piper! Good luck!
