Infant Constpation

I have a few questions..My son is 2 weeks old and I took him off of breastmilk and I am now giving him formula I was giving him Good Start formula but Thought that was what made him constipated I am now giving him [Similac Soy with Iron] Should I have not switched?...He now is constipated he hasnt had a BM since yesterday. I was wondering what can i give him to make him have a BM. I have Infant Apple juice but I need to know if i have to water it down before i give it to him or can i give it to him in his formula..I also have Light Karo Syrup How much of that should i put into 3 0z of formula? I'm not fond of the idea of putting anything in his rectal area..so if there is anything i can do to avoid that then I'm all ears. [I would call my Ped. But its sunday and I want to try something now] Hes so Uncomfortable and its keepin him awake!

Call your pediatrician!!! We gave my little one apple juice for constipation when she was about 2 months and it was seriously watered down, but only on our pediatrician's orders. It's their job to care for your baby's health, so who cares if it's sunday? :). I have a call in to my OB right now because I've got wicked bad pinkeye and my eyes are almost swollen shut...do I feel bad disturbing him on a sunday? definitely. Did I still call? you bet!!!!

You water it down, and give it in 1 0z doses daily or as required.  But pear juice is better.

Why did you stop breastfeeding?  Maybe you could sneak in a feeding from the breast every now and again to keep the baby regular.
