Irregular periods

I have had irregular Periods since I was 11yrs old and I am now 24 yrs old.They are very normal I can have it regular somemtimes foir several months then not.O the oppsite there is no pattern.Ive gone 8 mos before without it.They tested my hormonlal levels and everything is fine.I also got a ultra sound for maybe haveing cyst and that was normal.So what could it be?Also my body very sensitive off birth control and I get very sick.What should I take instead?

Did they test your hormones on just one day or several different times during your cycle?  My understanding from my doctor is that when they test hormones it only gives them a snapshot of the day they tested on.  If you want to go a more natural route try and look for a doctor familiar with "NaProTechnology" as they are specially trained in looking for the root cause of these types of occurrences rather then simply treating the symptoms.  Many of the people trained in this are Family Practice doctors or OB's.  Another option is to see if they tested your thyroid function.  Low/high thyroid function can sometimes cause irregular periods.  If you want to do something more on your own you could learn to track your waking temperature (look online about Basal Body Temp or BBT) which can tell someone trained (a fertility awareness or Natural Family Planning instructor) if you are ovulating or not and if your temps are abnormally high or low etc. (low temps can indicate low thyroid function) etc.  Good luck to you!
