Sometimes it can take up to 12 weeks to find the HB but if you are so concerned you could request an Ultrasound to make sure. The doctor should have no problem getting you an US. They will be able to see the HB on an US by now.

it can be hard to hear the heart beat this early, i wouldn't worry.  i couldn't hear the heart beat in 1 pg until 14 wks and 12 wks in the other.

I wouldn't worry too much about that, I know that's easier said than done.  But everyone else is pretty much right, it can be hard to hear a heart beat that early, especially if it is only witha doppler.  A vaginal ultrasound would show the heart beat earlier because it is a straighter shot to the uterus.

At 11 weeks the dr really had to search to find my little one's hb, but they knew i wouldn't leave the table until they found it.  probably took about 20 min or so.  i am now 17 wks and baby is PERFECT.

I think one statistic is that 50% of the time they do not hear the heartbeat before 14 weeks, so it is not unusual for the doc to be unable to hear it this early via the doppler. You should have much better luck at the next appt ; )

well when i was pregnant the doctor couldn't hear the heart beat til i was like 20 weeks she said sometimes women who have extra "fluff" have a hard time hearing the heart beat. I had to have ultrasounds every time to make sure the lil guy was still alive and breathing
