Is cramping normal in early pregnancy?

Is cramping normal in early pregnancy?

I just got my first ever positive pregnancy test result after trying for 2 years!  I'm in disbelief, but I have a question that hopefully someone can help with.  I've had cramps off and on for the past week.  I kept thinking I'd start my period, but it never came.  Has anyone experienced that?  Is it normal?  I'm kind of afraid to get my hopes up; that it might mean I'm going to miscarry or something?  Thanks!

Congrats on you little baby!! Don't worry, it's very normal to feel cramps during pregnancy. If the pain gets really bad and/or you start bleeding really heavy get into see your Dr.
But I don't think you have anything to worry about.
congrats again! :))

Very normal.   If they start feeling more like contractions, then worry.  Other than that, enjoy your pregnancy!!!

They are normal and you will have them throughout your entire pregnancy.  It is stretching of the uterus, ligament pains, etc.  As long as it isn't consistant like contractions or accompanied by blood then you should be fine.  Wishing you a happy, healthy, nine months!  :)  Keep us posted

Thanks!  I'm tentatively excited and I apprecaite your help!  But I've never been pregnant before, so I don't know what contractions feel like!  These are like menstrual cramps and they're irregular.

when i firsgt got my bfp, i almost immediately starting getting what felt like severe menstrual cramps, along with that lovely, icky, bloated feeling you get right before AF. i was pretty sure i was goin to miscarry. needless to say, AF never came and i am now 19 1/2 weeks! they lasted a few weeks, and came and went throughout the day. they were the worst at night, and would wake me for 20 minute stretches at a time. at night, they were actually worse than my menstrual cramps (but definitely in the same spots).dr said it's normal stretching and a sign of a healthy pregnancy. congratulations!!! tylenol may help if it gets too uncomfortable.
