Is it a bad idea to conceive if my Husband is on antidepressants?

My husband is on Zoloft 100's and I am wondering if this will hurt the baby if i try to conceive now. We want a baby and I am afraid he will be on these meds for a while.
Any insite or advise?

having a baby is very very stressful... I would be sure his depression is under control before you try to concieve (conceive).  You are very young and have time... sorry

I don't think him being on zoloft would be a problem, but I'm not a doctor.  You could always as the pharmacist for peace of mind.

I was on an antidepressant, antianxiety, antipsychotic, and a mood stabilizer (bipolar) when I conceived two of my children. I didn't know I was pregnant and was actually on them for six weeks into the pregnancy. Both of my children are absolutely fine. I quit the meds when I found out, and my ob/gyn actually tried to persuade me to stay on them throughout the pregnancy.

My husband was on anti-deppresants when I conceived my first.  The doc said it was OK because the dose isn't that high.  I'm pregnant with my second and he was on the meds too.  My son is 4 now and a very happy boy.  It shouldn't affect the baby, but I would ask his doc first.  People take meds because of a chemical imbalance.  I think it's OK to try now.
