I was unbelievably thirsty around weeks 7-10.  I was drinking so much water I can't even tell you how many 52 ounce jugs I would drink in a day.  Your body doubles it's blood volume during pregnancy so this can make you more thirsty.  I still continue to drink a lot but the constant dry mouth has gone away.  I would drink and 30 seconds later, my mouth was like a desert.  Crazy.

I was the same around weeks 7-10, too. And couldn't stop drinking water, juice, and more water.  I would even have to drink at night, which leads to more potty breaks.  It gets better, how far along are you, I'm almost 14 weeks.

Yes it's normal, and you'll find that the more water you drink, the better you will feel. It revives me as well as limits cramping. If i don't have enough water in me, i find i become very tired and my belly cramps up. (which i called the doc and they said it's normal)
So stay hydrated!

That's good to hear.  I'm actually 22 weeks and still feeling thirsty all the time.  I drink water mostly and then milk and juice.  I even drink at night even if it increases my potty breaks just because i'm that thirsty.
Someone just told me that it might be a sign of gestational diabetes??  Anyone heard of that?

I'm 37 weeks and this whole pregnancy I have been thirsty ALL the time! I feel like I am in the Sahara desert when I wake up at night and that sand is going to fall out of my mouth. Ugh. I don't have gestational diabetes though.

it could be a sign of gestational diabetes because they do get very thirsty.  If you feel concerned call you dr and let them know and they may test you early, but like alaysha, it doesn't mean you have it.  Good luck :o)

I would check my blood sugar. Good luck
