Is it possible I'm pregnant?

Is it possible I'm pregnant?

I was on the pill this month...but kept missing days in the first few weeks.  I'd take two pills the next day, but kept having to make them up.  Now I lost my pack of pills right in the middle of the cycle.  Is it possible I can become pregnant now?

Yep, I reckon you can get pregnant even if you don't take your pills for 1 day.  Believe me.  I read all the package inserts form two oral contraceptives when my sister in law was confused.  She was even asking me do I take these before or after we make love?  Her husband got mad at her and flushed away all her pills not because he doesn't want her to get pregnant, but just because he was mad.  She missed a few days.Of course I didn't know how to say that in my choppy Arabic but I think she understood.

VERY VERY POSSIBLE.  My friend got pregnant after missing 2 days (seperate occassions) in one week.  And now has a BEAUTIFUL baby boy.  Get a test to put your mind at ease one way or another

Perhaps you should try the patch.

Take a test/go to the doctor.  Keep in mind, ANYTIME you have UNPROTECTED SEX (which you did not say if you were sexually active, I assume you are since you posted your question) there is a chance you will become pregnant.  Remember, the only 100% form of birth control is to not have sex.  Any other time the answer to "Could I be pregnant?" is yes.

Thanks for your responses...and yes I was sexually active.  I was looking online at possible ovulation dates...it would be from 8/2-8/7...I had sex on 8/2 and 8/6.  I'm just wondering if I would ovulate or not.  I also have PCOS, not sure if anyone is familar with it, but it causes you to not ovulate.  I'm pretty sure I won't get pregnant, and honestly I'd be able to wait two weeks to find out, but the biggest reason I'm concerned is that my boyfriend and I are planning a trip and I'm terrified of flying so I need to medicate and inebriate!  I know that I won't be able to do it if I'm pregnant.  I guess I won't know until I take a test...

Thanks for your input though.  I figured as much, but I'm thinking the odds for not being are in my favor.

The "odds" aren't the same thing as a sure thing.  When you mess up your pills so badly, you can ovulate at any time.  I wouldn't go around drinking and taking pills until and unless you are sure you aren't pregnant.  Get a blood test a day or two before your trip.

Discuss some other means of BC with your doctor unless you can remember to take one pill a day.

I have PCOS and you are actually at a higher risk of ovulation when you mess up your bc pills than you may be during a normal cycle... here's a thought- why don't you call your doctor and get a new pack?

I miss my pills all the time and i aint pregnant..

Hello,
My name is Holly. I am 20 years old. I am planning on going off the pill (i have been on it for 3 years now) in November. I hope to get pregnant right away so I can give the news to my in-laws and my parents as an xmas gift. Do people usually have problems conceiving the first few months they go off the pill? How does it work? I also want to lose weight before I have a baby. As it is I am not comfortable in my skin. If anyone has suggestions or would like to chat, please email me at butterfly_baybee2005***@**** I will respond to everyone!
Also, will you only conceive on certain days of the month? I can use as much information as I can

Why do you miss your pills?

Because we all forget

PCOS is Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. It's a hormonal problem which causes you not to ovulate regularly, if at all. BC pills are frequently prescribed in order to regulate periods. Because the BC pills also bring your hormone levels closer to "normal" when you miss pills and have PCOS, chances are you will ovulate... you are also more likely to ovulate your first cycle off of BC pills if you have PCOS (for the same reason).

Thats true...about the PCOS.  I was taken off the BC Pill for medical reasons and ended up getting pregnant the first cycle off.  I know I need to be more responsible with the pill, and all the excuses like I work two jobs and I'm a single mom doesn't really matter in the end.  I should have asked for the patch.  Really, I'd be thrilled if I were pregnant, but seeing as I'm not married it isn't the best timing.
