Is it possible to ovulate after Provera challenge?

by nike145622, Oct 21, 2006 12:00AM
After no periods for about a year, I finally met with a doctor who put me on the "provera challenge."  This entire time, we have been having unprotected sex just to see if pregnancy would happen, but nothing.  Now, we are "officially" ttc.  I had the withdrawal bleeding after the provera, yay.  I have done a lot of reading, and basically learned that if you have irregular periods and bleed with provera, that you are basically annovulatory.  So I started tracking my BBT at the beginning of the menses/bleeding and using opk strips.  For about 20 days nothing happened, I assumed I wouldn't ovulate at all... but this week I had two posivite opks and my temp rise that confirmed ovulation on fertilityfriend!  I am extremely surprised, so I am basically wondering if it is even possible to actually ovulate after provera?  I worry that I am making a mistake temping because I assumed it was not even possible.  Just wondering if we really have hope for this month for getting pregnant!

I got pregnant after 2 cycles of being on Provera.  I took Provera in Dec 05 and then again in Jan 06 and had AF after each set of pills...in Feb 06 I didnt get an AF and ended up being pregnant.  The baby is healthy and Im due November 1st...so it is possible to get pregnant after being on Provera.
