Is this what your morning sickness is like?

Is this what your morning sickness is like?

It happened just a little while ago(as well as for the past few weeks).  I hadn't had the chance to eat breakfast and all of a sudden I felt this sick, sick feeling in my stomach.  I needed to eat. So I leave work to pick up something and on my way back  up to my job, I just want to rip into my food in order for the sickness to stop.  Sometimes I feel my hands shaking because it gets so bad.  I havent thrown up much during my pregnancy so far.  Maybe like 3 times but, this sick feeling comes often.

Sometimes once I've finished eaing, like now, I still feel quesy.  Any way to prevent or make this feeling be not so intense?  I drank a yougurt yesterday for breakfast (the drinkable kind) and it did nothing.  I had to run out and get a roll.  Anyone with me on this?
Please dont say crackers! I've eaten so many crackers that I think I my baby might have a slight resemblence to one. :-)

sounds like me! I kept thinking it wasn't morning sickness because I didn't have a diversion to food - I just felt sick before and after I ate - but had an intense desire to eat.  I don't know what the true definition of morning sickness is - but although I haven't thrown up - I felt bluck...I think that counts.  And I have no clue how to make it stop - mine comes usually in the afternoon - and I just nap to make it go away. ha.

Try to eat more often, slowly.

I know the ravenous feeling and then feeling queasy afterwards.  Sometimes the hunger just creeps up on you and you're too busy to pay attention.

The best way to avoid it is watch the clock and don't go too long without having a snack, like an apple or banana.  Just something to keep your stomach satisfied so you don't get overly hungry and then eat too fast.

That's how I was for the past few days.  I'm 6 weeks 2 days along.

I feel much better today, and as I started thinking about it, I realized that what I ate the previous days actually made my morning sickness worse.  I didn't throw up, but boy, I felt that if I did, it would make me better.

I ate Mexican food... with chips and salsa.  I'm going to try to stay away from spicy food for a while and see how that treats me.

With my DS I couldn't eat anything with tomatoes, and with my DD, I couldn't stand the smell of seafood, which I normally love.  We'll see how this one goes.

sounds a lot like me too.  you need to eat a lot...small things. i ate every hour...pretzels, crackers, fruit..

i even went from being a vegetarian for 9 yrs to eating a burger to stop the quesy feeling.

i had extreme naseua in the morning...dry heaving and throwing up bile until about 8am....then I'd eat and be good for the rest of the day.

good luck....you need something hard in your stomach to start the day...dry waffles, toast...crackers...no more shakes...that could trigger it.

I had the same feeling you are describing and the only way to stop it was to eat early. I would get up on my own at 4 in the moring and have breakfast and go back to bed. Then again with my husband at 7 and then again with my DD at 9. I would then have lunch at 2 and not eat any dinner because I was so full. Eating was the only way to prevent any nausea. Good luck

Your morning sickness sounds pretty normal. The things I learned were to not let myself get tot eh point of being hungry. By the time your hungry, your stomach is already producing massive acid that makes nausea worse. I would try to eat little snacks throughout the day. I know I needed to eat more substantial foods. I ate fruit too but I could eat 5 peices of fruit and still feel hungry, try to eat somethings that are more hardy too (waffles, peanut butter on bread etc) that will keep you from being hungry longer.

Like others have said, don't let yourself get to the point where you're hungry.  Eat snacks in between meals and make sure you drink that WATER!  We're supposed to be drinking 72 ounces a day - that should keep you busy!  And try not to drink during meals.  Drink before and after.  I'm right there with you though, my nausea seems to have started today and I'm a little light headed too.  I took my iron this morning though!
