It is happening again........This sucks!

So I have Cholestasis again. Go to itchymoms.com to see what it really is. Mainly, it is like a liver disease that you get when you are pregnant. Not to mention that you get severely itchy all over your body. Sleeping is next to impossible. I am having a really hard time dealing with this because I know what to expect. And that is hell. I talked to my doc and they don

Sarubers, I am so sorry you are going through this.

My guess is that they will keep you preggers as long as possible.  However, many preemies as young as 25 weeks do very well.

Is your liver shutting down?

I have no idea what you're going through but I do know about the lung development.  Typically it's at full term (37 weeks) but can be earlier than that.  Girls mature faster than boys (even in utero!) so their lungs are mature sooner than boys.  They can do an amnio as you get close to 37 weeks to see how the lungs are.  My first was born at 35 weeks and her lungs were just fine.

I hope the medication works for you and that it all works out!

Kris123 -  The reason why they dont want the baby in me is because it can kill her. If my liver isnt functioning properly, my body cant help her liver either. Basically, there is a blocked duct from my liver to my gall bladder. This is causing bile salts to build up and spill out into my blood stream. Giving me salty blood I guess. It all passes through the placenta.
In case studies, this medicine has helped to keep people pregnant until full term. The ones who got a sugar pill ALL gave birth at or before 35 weeks or had stillborn. Needless to say, it really freaks me out! Not to mention that the itching is in my blood, so NOTHING will relieve the itch. NOTHING!
The crazy thing is that it goes away completely as soon as I deliver. It's like I am allergic to being pregnant.
I am a little releived to know that I had my son at around 37-38 weeks and he is just fine. I just SUFFERED through the itching and preterm labor.

I am so sorry for you! You must be absolutely miserable. I had never heard of it until a few months ago.  I live in Daytona Beach and there was a page and 1/2 article about a local woman who had it very bad. She went to many specialists and it took a long time for a diagnosis. They had several color pictures of her, too. She said it felt like fiberglass in her veins and could not get any relief. I really am sorry you are going through this. I can't even imagine.
