It's a Boy!

Hi Ladies,
Just wanted to share my happy news that my dh and I just found out we'll be having a BOY!  The due date got changed to November 1st.

We had a scare last week b/c they saw a cyst on the brain and a swollen kidney, so we went to a genetic specialist and got a better ultra sound 2 days later and the Kidney seems to be back to normal.  The cyst still is a minor concern, but due to the fact that it is the only marker that was seen, the chances of there being a problem are considerably less... We had been worried about Trisomy 18 (which if you google it, it's pretty bad) and also Downs.  Downs is now back to the normal risk for my age group (I'm 29) and the Trisomy 18 is still a slight risk, but still less than 1%.

We get our blood test results back this week (probably by Wednesday)-- please pray that everything turns out fine with the results.  Even if we get a false positive for something, I feel like we've been put through the ringer these past couple days and fear we wouldn't be able to handle it.  He looked so good on the ultra sound, that I can't imagine anything being wrong with him.

I'll keep you all posted though.

Although I'm no where near anything so special, I can imagine how you must have felt seeing your BOY. I hope he will do great.

Congrats on the boy!! I have two and boy are they a handful! Of course, nothing beats the connection between a mom and her boys.

I may sound like a broken record, but try to keep your chin up and focus on the positives right now and take the rest one day at a time.

I will pray for you. It is scary when they see stuff on the u/s. I have a baby boy that they thought was going to be born early and have a low birth weight because he only had a two vessel ambillical cord. YEAH RIGHT;) He was 7 days late and almost 9 lbs.

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers ladies.  I will keep you updated and let you all know when we get the blood test results.  I really hope we get them by Wednesday.

Either way, we should know by the end of the week.

Congradulations on your boy. Don't worry about the cysts. My first had four on her brain. I was so worried at first, but after looking online I flund that they are fairly common ad resolve on their own, as hers did about 7 months inutero! She is three now and as smart as can be :)

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers.  You are right, we've come a long way since meeting up on this site.  I have ultra sound photos posted on the other site if you wanted to go check them out.

I'll continue to pray that you have a healthy happy 9 months! :)  Are you guys finding out the sex?  Do keep me posted if you decide to find out. :)

hey everyone this is my first time on here and ive searched the web for somewhere where i could go to share my experiences this seems like a good spot. Im 21 and pregnant with my second baby im also a single mom and had to wait along time to get put on medicaid so i went to a pregnancy help center and they did a u/s stating i was 8 weeks pregnant which added up to my last menstrul being in the end of feb. so when i finally went to the doctor i told him when i had my last menstrul and he gave me a due date of Dec 5th which all added up but when he did all the exams and checked me viginal he said i think u might be fauther along then u thought so he schedule for me to have a u/s asap i trust this doctor he delivered my first child. so i schedule the u/s and the u/s determined that i was 17 weeks along and gave me a due date of nov 1st. And also told me i was having a boy and he was healthy im happy that the baby is healthy but was so wishing for a girl since the first one i had was a boy now 2 going on 3 in jan. So i had to wait 4 weeks before i could see the doctor again in the mean time they called me to tell me that my cultures came back adnormal and he would have to do a full indupet patsmear when i returned so a week later i recieved a letter from my doctor stating that my cultures were normal so im really confused i have a lot of stomach cramping that come and go but no bleeding so i havent worried about it. i havent felt movement like i did with my first onw which was so active u could see my stomach roll with him and came out with his cord wrapped around his neck four times and what they called a true knot in it he basically tied his own cord in a knot from flipping and flopping so much.This pregnancy is so different from the first one i lost 10 pounds from the get go and everytime i think i gained two pounds i loose 4 pounds the dr says hes not worrie b/c i didnt loose the weight from the first one all i know is i got untill monday the 19th to go back and have lots of questions for him. i want to know if 17 weeks was to early to tell the sex of the baby? B/C i ready that as of right now if its a girl he virgina is growing so i want to know how they can tell at 17 weeks im 20 weeks as of right now ill be almost 21 when i go back. If anyone has any comments on what ive said please give me something. I dream bad stuff all the time so im worried about the cramping and i also dont know how one ultrasound says im 8 weeks and matches with my dates of last period and then the other one says im actually a month fathuer then i thought i so confussed help
