Just venting

Just venting

Hi ladies, so basically we just had our first baby last tues, and now this week my husband gets told that he may not have a job next school year, they are more then likely not going to resign his contract.  He works so hard and even went to work last Friday just for the kids because they had a field trip that he didn't want to cancel.  So now he feels like **** and thinks he is worthless, and not good at what he does even though he gives 110% all the time for the school.  Also the school board wasn't even going to tell him and they won't tell him what he is doing wrong, that they don't like, they have made his job into an extremely pressured position.  He loves what he does.  The big problem is that he is a agriculture teacher and there are no jobs around the area that he can apply for also we are supposed to be moving and renting his mom and dad's place and we can't afford to live one place let alone two.  I just hate seeing him cry.  Well we are supposed to be selling our house and now that may even backfire, I guess even though the people had a mortgage now they are saying that it might not go through.  So they want to buy on contract.  We couldn't afford the house before while he is working, but now, we really can't afford it.  i am not depressed, but i am very scared that we will be, he is a strong person, but his ego is shot, and his heart is broken.  Just makes me want to cry, and then cry some more.  I know that we'll make it, but it's not good timing.  I guess i am asking that you keep us in your prayers and thoughts we need all of them we can get.  Amy

I am so sorry you have to go thru this.. where does your DH teach.. MY husband is a teacher as well,.technology, and engineering. all of his classes are elective classes and thank god, there is a huge want and need in upstate newyork. the only problem is with the way the education system goes, anything could change. they put all this emphisis on core courses like math science etc... and yes they are very very important. but so are the elective courses. agriculture is HUGE!!!!! we couldnt live without it, again I am sorry this is happening,. hold your head up.. you will get thru this..

We are in southern Indiana, he talked to the superintendent tonight and basically they are getting rid of him because the kids are not getting enough first places in the FFA club (future farmers of America).  It's a low blow, he is a great teacher you would think that would be considered first, but it appears that the club winning is more important.  His philosophy is that the kids just improve even if that means getting a second place instead of that third like the year before, but the school board is so rednecked and backwoods that they just see blue ribbons, basically they don't care about academics or self-improvement.  He is a excellent teacher puts in 12 hour days many many times a month even a week.  He put in 50 hours of his personal time to build a grill for a fund raiser over his spring break.  He has come to terms with it, that it's not him that is doing bad, it's just that the school board wants one person to do a two man job and be a superman on top of that.  I just hope that God opens the doors soon, we are very worried, but we won't be homeless because the in-laws have a house we will be able to rent soon, since they are building a new one, which was already in the making.  Thanks for your support ladies.  Right now, we'll just cherish each other and our beautiful little girl.

You aren't from Ohio are you??? They are cutting one of our Ag teachers at the local high school, too. I don't think it is due to him personally, though. It is just due to budget cuts. They are cutting like 19 people in the school system just to save money. I think it's just awful....especially since I am going to college right now to get my bachelor's in early childhood education! Maybe your husband's school is in the same boat...they just can't afford some of the faculty anymore! I know things are stressful....but at least he has the whole summer to try and find something! :)

For Pete's sake! We live in Northwestern Ohio and we are the biggest hicks in the world! lol My brother is the sentinal for our local FFA chapter and I don't think they've won many blue ribbons EVER. The kids have fun! They love being kids and being hicks...their teacher grew up locally and  the understands the importnace of kids having fun for fun's sake!  Luckily our superintendant understands that too! It's too bad for your husband's job! That's really dumb!! Move to Ohio......we need all sorts of Ag people here! lol
