LOW HCG

At 5 1/2 weeks pregnant an ultra sound detected a gestational and yolk sac. however, later that same day i received a call saying that my hcg levels were only 540 and that was on the low side. i am confused because i didnt think an ultra sound could detect a yolk sac that early. overall my hcg levels have been rising very slowly. am i at risk for a miscarriage? I am currently 6 weeks and 2 days now. I also had an IVF tranfer with a frozen egg if that makes any difference.

10 days after transfer- hcg 52
12 days after transfer- hcg 86
22 days after transfer- hcg 540

hi, i dont want to scare you in any way. i found out i was pregnant after 4 days of having my period and was spotting...im not sure how far along i was but far enough that it poppped up positive right away and i had 2 blood test to see if my hcg levels wud rise, they did but slowly turns out it was a tubal pregnancy and lost my baby a wk after finding out in surgery and now only have one tube. i hope this isnt your case. my doc told me my hcg levels needed to rise pretty much double and they werent.. best of luck!!

thanks for your response. it's def. not an etopic/tubal pregnancy. i am guessing my levels were high at one point which explains why the sac was detectable, then my hcg levels must have dropped to 540. im returning in a few days for another u/s. i'll be 7 weeks by then so we're hoping for a fetal heartbeat.
