Larger Gest. SAC

by HappyIssy, Apr 19, 2005 12:00AM
Just got back from US. I am 4 weeks and 4 days pregnant. My HCG was 370 on Thur last week and 4588 yesterday. They found two sacs this morning. One was extremly large and the other seemed normal but much smaller then it's partner. I go back in next week for another US and I will be 5 W and 4 Days by that time.. Does anyone have any idea what this could mean? Please help!

Two sacs--Im thinking twins!

by cinnamonheart, Apr 19, 2005 12:00AM
Although you are very early to be getting an accurate u/s  Most like 8 weeks plus, Maybe get a better look  when you are further along

Thank you! I do go back next week for another US. They were just so surprised of the size of SAC #1 (21.5) this early.  and SAC # 2 measured at (18.1) Someone mentioned that maybe something was wrong with SAC # 1. They only saw one yolk in it? This is all so confusing! SOmeone else said that maybe the embryo split and thsu twins are in sac # 1. I can not find any info on this.
If anyone has heard of this happening please let me know!

As usual I agree with Cinn. sounds like twins to me.  There are all kinds of search engines to look stuff like this up, try ask jeeves.com or google, just type in gestational sacs with twins.  I would LOVE to have had twins

Did you find out what your having at your appointment today??

by sm8, Apr 19, 2005 12:00AM
could even be triplets Identical twins sharing a sac and a fraternal twin in the other sac!

by lovinmom, Apr 20, 2005 12:00AM
Do you have a tilted uterus?  Maybe the angle of the wand is making one sac look smaller?  Either that or the possibilty of fraternal twins as one of the other girls mentioned.  How wonderful to have such a fruitful womb!  I wish you well with all of this!

Well I have been researching online and a "large sac" could mean an impending failed pregnancy. I am so nervous and I wish I could know more. I have been an IVF patient for over a year with 4 failed attempts. I am so scared. I wish I could get another opinion. They said they saw a sac measuring 21.5 mm with a yolk. Then they saw another sac at 18.3. My HCG went from 360 to 4580++ is 3 days. I go in for another scan on Tuesday. I wish I knew someone who had this happen to them. Isn;t there MDs on this site to give an opinion?
Thank you to all the replied with  hope.

Could not see AGAIN, little peanut just turns so you can't see anything.  Maybe will just take the oriental womans guess. LOL.  Your right, ask me that again in July LMAO, don't know if I would actually want them to be mine, just want them until I'm sick of them. haha.  Heres a question for you, had my appt yesterday and my blood pressure is quite high, now i have to go have my cervix length checked.  Have never had that in the past, how do they do it? Does it hurt?  Is it just b/c I have that stitch in my cervix (cerclage) to prevent another preterm delivery, don't want another pound and a half baby!!!!  Does this tell them if you are about to go into labor?  Kind of scared now!

I had to have my cervical lenth checked all the time with my last pg to make sure I did not need a stitch.  It is just a vaginal u/s and no it does not hurt.  I always liked it because they always looked at my baby while they were in there.  You'll be fine.  Watch that blood pressure.  Good Luck to you.

Happy,

Go to this site.  There is a lady named cocoa who had the same thing happen.  She miscarried one baby, but is now pregnant with her second.  She had two sacs.  Your hcg numbers are progressing, so hang in there.  I know it is hard.  Time will tell what is going on.  In the mean time, we are here to help you along.
