Late Walker??

Late Walker??

Ryan is now13months old and is not walking yet.  He will take a few step and fall forward and he can stand for a few min before falling down.  He really seems to have no interest.  Humm is this considered late when should it be a concern

I wouldn't consider him late until he's a year and a half....
My DD walked the week after she turned 1 and well, Jake is 10 mos and moves along things while standing up, but will not let go for the life of him.

Won't even walk holding our hands....

My brother started at like 19-20 months....

I agree, he will do it when he is ready. My sister daug. started walking 2week after her 1st b-day. My Other sister son started 2weeks before his 1st b-day. My bro in law daug. is 13months and has no interest in walking yet. My son started at 9.5months. So it really depends on the child!

I just talked to a friend yesterday who told me she didn't start walking until she was almost 2 years old! I guess it just depends on the child and if they're interested...

my first took steps on her first bithday and didn't again until 15 months... I think firsts do it later because there is no one they are trying to catch up with ;)

he will walk with when you hold his hands, so i won't worry and just let him keep doing what he is doing.  He talks all the time and is so loud in public places - not crying but just talking away.

There is a wide range of "normal" here, so don't worry. I have one that walked at 10 months, and another that didn't walk until 14 months. Both normal, bright children.

And I have the same problem with Jameson on the loud "talking" in public. I have to leave sunday school almost every week because he is just babbling away!! lol

kris,  your son sounds more verbal than physical at this point.

With a child who seems to be walking late you look at the whole child - and yours sounds very social.

If he wasn't do anything , that would be cause to worry.  He's fine.
