Losing my mucus plug

by mami2karina, Aug 20, 2007 11:55AM
Wow this pregnancy has flown by.  I'll be 34 weeks on Wednesday.  I woke up this morning and I had started to lose my mucus plug.  And it's been gradually coming more and more since then.  But I'm spotting and cramping.  Is that normal?  I didn't have any cramping or anything when I lost my mucus plug when I was pg with my dd  I've also noticed that the baby's activity is down today from what it usually is.  I've felt him move several times today, just not as much as I normally do, he's a VERY active little guy.  So what are your thoughts???

Spotting, cramping, and mucus discharge mean you should let your doctor know what's going on.

Okay, thank you ladies!  I'll call him now, he should be getting in just about now.  He doesn't get in until noon on Mondays.

I hope you called your doc! :) Let us know what he says!

I called the office once I posted on here.  But I was wrong, on Monday's he's not in the office until 1.  So I talked to the nurse.  She seemed concerned.  But said she has to talk to my OB first.  So, I'm expecting a call anytime now.  I had  LEEP done after I had my daughter so they checked my cervix for funneling and shortening earlier in my pregnancy.  But since then I haven't been checked.  So she said it's possible that my cervix is starting to dilate under the pressure of the baby.  So I'm still waiting.

My OB finally called me back.  I have to go into L&D for a NST and they're going to check my cervix.  The nurse had me freaked out on the phone.  So I'll let you know what happens when I get back I guess.

Can't wait to hear from you, wish you had said you had a LEEP sooner! Chances of delivering early are higher. Best of luck to you!

I know.  I really hope he comes a couple of weeks early like my OB said.  I'm in so much pain already and my room is on the second floor of the house so I'm having a hard time getting up there.

My friend had a LEEP done, she had her first baby in Jan he was 3 weeks early. Didn't show it in the weight department though (8#). Hope you feel better soon!
