Lots and lots of pain and i don't know what to do. Peek are u out there?

by Darkestlight, Aug 23, 2007 02:03PM
Alright today I had my normal NST and apt. Things were just fine. The baby is doing just fine.
I've been having this problem that has pretty much kept me off my feet a lot. When I stand for more than 2 mins my back starts to hurt. My lower back. Well my baby shower is Saturday and I told my mom I'd help her out with cleaning and straightening up the house as much as I could. But standing is becoming more and more painful. Now the pain is in my back and lower stomach. I'm talking pain so bad that I want to pull my hair out, it makes my hands shake, pain so bad that i can't even tell if I'm having a contraction cause all I can do is flinch and freeze. Today at the doctors apt. the doctor laughed because shes laying really funny. Her head is down on my right lower side and her feet are up on my left side by my ribs. I don't know if this is relevant, but I thought I'd throw it in. What in the world is going on with me?? I feel so helpless. I'm not even doing hard things. Like arranging books on a book shelf is putting me in bad pain. Someone tell me something I should do.... I guess If I took tylenol for the pain it wouldn't go away if these are real contractions or w/e?

Is your stomach tightening up? If you were having contractions, most likely, your belly would get very hard and tight. I have had a lot of pains myself lately. Last night I didn't move off my couch except to waddle back to bed. This morning the pains are much better. I think it probably is how your little girl is laying. They say that when you are in labor and having back pains that you shoud rock on all fours to take pressure off your back. Maybe you could try that out! (Even though it is going to totally suck getting back up off the floor and you'll probably feel like a turtle on it's back! lol)

Good luck! :)

how many weeks are you again? did you tell the dr about this pain? they may send you over to the L&D to be monitored if you are before 37 weeks.

I'm 34wks. I just got off the phone with them and they are just like watch it and see if it becomes a pattern. They told me I can take tylenol or my tylenol 3's. I'm so frustrated and I feel so lazy cause I'm in pain and really should be doing stuff.

Also This pain just isn't letting up. I know contractions come and go, but this pain won't let up at all.

at 34 weeks you should be checked if you are having more than 5 in an hour.  im guessing they are minutes apart?  its pretty early still, id tell them i want to be checked just to make sure.  the weekend is coming up.  dont worry about the house or chores, rest is more important at this point.  like ruby said maybe it is the position of your baby.  i hope it feels better soon!!

A girl I work with just had her second baby...she had terrible terrible back pain for the last 6 or 7 weeks. it was the baby pressing on her sciatic. She was nearly in tears and eventually had to stop working and just lay around.

So is it that kind of back pain or are they contractions?

Actually these aren't letting up much.... I just had two in 10mins.... These are some bad *** pains. If they don't go away with a tylenol 3 and they keep coming im going to L&D.

go anyway.  whats the worst that can happen, you get some rest, maybe a free dinner!  i do believe you should go, if you let pain meds try to mask  your pain (#3 wont help with true labor im sure) then maybe you wont go.  hop on over to the hospitol.

hey did you ever try to get the red cross to help get dh home? they are the ones that brought my dh home when his dad died and he was out on the ship. well they helped anyway

All you can do is check it out with your doctor.  If its just aches and pains of pregnancy, you'll just have to find a way to ease it with simple measures, like Tylenol, gentle heat, or ice packs.

are you feeling better yet?  peek i was joking about the free dinner thing lol.

LoL.... Well I ended up in severe pain. It kept coming and going so I went to L&D. Waited forever for my doctor to get there and then he finally said my cervix isn't doing anything and the contractions finally stopped after I got to the hospital. So he just sent me home which is good cause i was tired of being there. The moment I got out of the hospital bed to get dressed I started hurting again. I finally took two tylenol and the pain has since eased up. So I'm assuming there is massive pressure on my back and pelvis. I also have a old back injury from a previous car accident and my spine is curved so I'm sure all these things don't help. I feel kind stupid for going to L&D, but at the time I was in so much pain I didn't know what else to do. Oh well..... I won't be doing anything else for the next 3wks, no more house work. I guess I'll be laying in bed a lot... Oh well anything to not have that horrible excruciating pain again. I guess my doctor thinks I'm a idiot. lol

by rubyolivia, Aug 23, 2007 07:56PM
You're not alone if your doc does think that...my doc thinks I'm an idiot too! lol

by pertykitty, Aug 23, 2007 08:07PM
no your dr doesnt think your an idiot.  so its ok, but what if it hadnt been?  i suppose with all your back issues you might just experience quite a bit of pain, i feel for you!

Just 3 more weeks!!!!! That's all I have till my c section... just 3 more weeks. I just need to take it easy and I'll make it. Also I guess I should keep in mind that my baby has been weighing (not measuring length wise)2 1/2 weeks above average this whole pregnancy which would put her at around 6lbs at 34wks.... But I developed GD at around 28-30wks So I wonder what effect that has had on her weight. Next week is my Group B strep test and we are doing a U/S to check her growth. I can't believe next week will mark 35wks. I never thought I'd make it this far through all the **** I've been through. I just can't wait to hold her.

since they become worse when you are out of the hospital, i would rent a room there...lol...i am sorry to hear that you are feeling the bad pain, but you have t o look on the other side, you will be having you angel in 3 weeks, how exitining.
and don't woory my doctor too used to look at me in a way that make me feel im ididot, when i start complaining about the pelvic pain i had through my whole pregnancy, like i was the only pregnant women on earth.
oh honey you will be holding her soon, it is amazing to see the last u/s for your baby. and let me tell you the last three weeks time seems to go so fast, while you have too much thing to do.GOOD LUCK!
