Loud Noises

Can loud noises startle the baby inside the womb??  Today my BF and his father were fixing some things in the bathroom and they were banging very very loudly and i was standing outside the room, and once the banging started the baby kicked me really hard and didn't seem to calm down until the banging stopped.

guess it depends how far along u are and if there ears are developed, but yes once they are fully developed babies do respond to noise outside the womb.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure their ears are developed completely. It's not uncommon for them to react to sounds, just like they would if they were born.

Absolutely, in my pregnancy newsletters that's one thing they mentioned, that the baby may jolt at loud noises by 20 weeks I think.
