Low HCG Level

I had an ovulation between 7-11 of october and I also did get a period on Oct 19th for 3 days, it was not very normal, but it was not very abnormal either. I had unprotected intercourse between 7-11, I did a HCG qualitative on Oct 25th and got a pregnancy positive:), I also did a urine test on oct 25 which was also a positive, I then did a HCG quantitative on Nov 3rd and my HCG count was only 76:(, I am totally disappointed, I did ask my doctor and she was also confused, I don't even know how many weeks of my pregnancy have I completed. I also did an ultrasound on Nov 4th and they ruled out the possibility of any cyst or ectopic pregnancy or miscarriage. I am planning to do another quantitative on Nov 8th, Can you pls tell me what is the count of HCG that I must expect???, am I normal at all?, pls help me!!!

well just by the info that you have given i would expect your hcg to be 300+.

the thing is that maybe you didn't O until a little later than you think.  sperm can live for up to 3 days(i think) it depends on the environment.  so it is possible that you didn't get pg until later.....which would account for the lower hcg levels.

so keep your chin up and just take it day by day. :)

I had a miscarriage on 9/23/05 and find myself pregnant again 6 weeks later without even trying.  On 11/10/05 my hcg level was 3475 which was great!  Progesterone was a little low so they put me on prometrium.  On 11/14/05 my hcg was only 5004 but progesterone was good.  Doctor is not optimistic that this pregnancy will last.  However, the  nurse said she has had experience with slow rising hcg levels and normal pregnancies.  I have also read many stories and discussion forums online about the subject, some good, some not so good.  I have an ultrasound tomorrow morning so I hope that we see a fetus in the right place!
