Low HCG Levels - Inevitable Miscarriage / Progestrone Help?

Low HCG Levels - Inevitable Miscarriage / Progestrone Help?

So, I found out that on Friday I had a positive pregnancy test, and then the blood test results were HCG levels of 47.  They put me on progestrone today (300 mg orally), and I was just wondering has anyone had such low levels and had them come back up?  With my DS I was on progestrone suppositories, and I had 2 mc's before him... So I am really nervous of that happening.  They said I could go back in and see if my levels doubled, just curious if anyone else had a positive HPT and then that same day have the low HCG on a blood test?

How pregnant are you?
Those levels are appropriate for 4-5 weeks.

Well, an online calculator said 5 weeks, but I believe that I ovulated about a week later than the mid-cycle.  So that is terrific!  I wonder why they told me they were low?!  Well, when I was pregnant with DS my levels at "5 wks" were double this, which is why I worried, but I told them the whole pregnancy that I was farther along than that, that I had ovulated early, and I was right.

I had a level of 100 and my dr. also said it was very low and told me i was going to miscarry. It did double, but then went down, and then back up. I had an u/s but it was a very small dot so I dont know what's going to happen. Just think positive that's what i've been doing and my dr. said she's never heard of anyones levels going back up. So I'm wishing for a miracle.

At 4 weeks pg, my hcg was about 29. Three days later it was 133 and my son will be 6 months old on Thursday!

WOW, congrats. Don't worry! My first hcg was like 44. It has to start somewhere. That annoys me that they can be so negative so early :( Keep us posted (I'm 32 weeks tomorrow)

Great some success stories!  =D  Congrats to you ladies... I took the first poster's comment and googled it and did find that between 4-5 weeks my levels are fine.  The doctor said that I could go in for another HCG reading to see if it went up... I think I might do that.  What I read online is to not take the # too seriously.  They wanted to do an ultrasound in 4 weeks, which seems late to me.  All my other 3 pregnancies I had one at 6 weeks, so I think I am going to call and say I want one sooner just to make sure things are progressing and all.  After all, the medical field is still a service industry- I'm paying for it!
