Low progesterone level and HCG level didn't double

Well this is my 4th pregnancy and I had a HCG quant w progesterone level test done on Thursday... the results showed that my progesterone level was only 7.5 but my HCG level was 41,500. I repeated the test in 48 hours on Saturday and after being placed on Premetrium my Prog level went up to 91 but my HCG level did not double, it only went up to 48,000. I believe that I am about 8 weeks pregnant is this normal?  I didn't have any problems with the first 3 pregnancies so this is all new to me. I am nervous and I will not have an ultrasound for one week. I am SUPER nervous and hope when I go for the ultrasound it shows a viable pregnancy. My doctor has me scared.

Your progesterone is great now and I would say your HCG is right where it should be.

This site says that once it gets that high, it could take up to 96 hours to double and around 8-11 weeks it will peak then start going down.  It says hcg numbers are more acurate within 5-6 weeks and ultrasounds are more accurate afterwards.

Try not to worry, it sounds like it is completely normal!!

Tuesday I went to the doctor for what was suppose to be my first OB appt. From my calculations I as of Tuesday I was suppose to be 6wks, when I went for my u/s there was concern because all they saw as the gest sac..no fetus. So my blood was taken, I went back yesterday for my 2nd set of test.  Today they doc called and said that my levels dropped and that this might not be viable pregnancy.  I am having some difficulty dealing with this, but I need to know realistically what are the chances of me having a healthy baby.. I don't know what my level were intially or how much they dropped, I didn't think to ask that but I have to go back to the doc on Tuesday.  Thanks for any help, advice or just opinions that you can pass on....
