Our baby boy was born 9 wks premature due to placenta abruption.  He is now 10 months old. He is fed via feeding tube and is on a heart monitor due to bradycardias.  His pediatrician and cardiologist have said they believe the bradys are due to a reflex in his throat that is triggered when he swallows (this is why he is fed via tube).  However, today for the first time while sleeping he had a heart rate of 230 and I could not wake him for 3 - 5 mintutes.  His cardiologist now says he may have conductive problems rather than reflex.  He wants to wait and see if this happens again and if so, he will start him on medicine to regulate the conductive signals.  My question is "What does this (conductive) mean? And is there negative impacts with this type of medicine?  Is this something they outgrow?"
Thank you,
Angel
