Lower leg injury on a qb sack

My son was hit on the lower leg in a football game there are know signs of a break  he can pressure on it but is painful . Could he have bruised his tibia or could it be a simple fracture as well?

if it is a fracture, the area where we suspecting will get swollen and the pain also very severe... we couldnt bare any pressure on the leg. we can feel the fracture when we palpate. but if it is a small crack to the bone he need to take a rest for 3 or 4 days, it will become normal.
you didnt mention the age of your son and the time when he met with the hit on leg.because chances of fracture to the children are more.
how ever its better to take a x-ray.
