Frozen!!! LOL. No realy it is cod with just a "dash of salt." The breading around the fish is what has gotten so much attention. Because of the fat. But isn't that what makes them so dang good. Hope this helps. God Bless.

I was told that I am not allowed to eat fish because it has too much Mercury.  Is this true?

I heard any kind of lake fish like perch is not good because of mercury. I heard cod and walleye are ok. I did ask my dr about cod (because I love it). He said it was ok

I've wanted fish in the worst way, but have been avoiding it.....I never remember which are okay and which are not, so I just stay away...

And I love shrimp, but doctor said no....

whaaaa......

I did take a bite of hubby's tuna last night and it was yummy...but I stopped at one bite.

The fish that may contain high levels of mercury are the ones that are caught as mature fish, eg tuna,shark, marlin... They have been in the ocean a while so have been exposed to more mercury. Stuff like Salmon, cod, hake,  sardines.. are good for you and you should try to eat 2 portions of fish a week when pregnant..the omega3 oil in fish is good for babies brain development. I was told that shellfish is okay provided it is cooked properly.

I copied this from Healthcastle.com;

Women who may become pregnant, pregnant women, nursing mothers, and young children to avoid some types of fish and eat fish and shellfish that are lower in mercury.

Avoid Fish with High levels of Mercury Shark, Swordfish, King Mackerel, or Tilefish

Eat 12 oz. (~2 meals) of Low-Mercury Fish per week; shrimp, crab, cod, clams, scallops, canned light tuna, canned salmon, pollock, and catfish etc.
Note: Albacore "White" tuna contains more mercury. Limit 6 oz (~1 meal) of albacore tuna per week.

For a complete list of fish and recommended portion, go to National Resources Defense Council

I ate shrimp, tuna, all you can eat crab legs at red lobster, deli meat, fish...lots of fish with both of my daughters and they were fine, big 10 lbs, but healthy.  Now all of a sudden we cant eat anything anymore.  What would seriously happen?  Has anyone heard of anything bad happening after eating these foods.  I can see maybe in the first trimester when baby is forming but why now?  Im just curious thats all.  If its all cooked properly shouldnt we be ok.  Wow 10 years from now, woman probably wont be able to eat anything at all.
