Measuring Different

I went to the doctors today because I started to bleed with alittle cramping...We did a u/s which showed me measuring 7-8 weeks, but the baby only is measuring 5 weeks. During the u/s the doctor did find a heartbeat, but it was only 90....
I have PCOS, so I didn't even think I could get pregnant so I'm trying to stay positive until next week when I get another u/s......

Any thoughts or answers????

I would ask the doctor to do two beta hCG blood tests 48 hours apart.  If the number is doubling or near-doubling, everything is probably fine.

An ultrasound only gives one measurement, the measurement of the baby.  You said the "ultrasound showed me measuring 7-8 weeks but the baby is only measuring 5 weeks" -- is it possible that something else, such as your blood levels, or the external measurement with tape measure, or your last period date, suggests 7-8 weeks, while the ultrasound said 5 weeks?  It does not make sense that an ultrasound would give you two dates.

If the embryo is at 5 weeks, a heartrate of 90 is normal.  It would just have started up.

Good luck!

I had my first HCG level done on Monday which was 19,000 something and I'm going this afternoon for my second one. HOPEFULLY IT DOUBLES!!!!
I was kinda nervous when he was telling me everything. I think that the 7-8 weeks is going off my last period....because my lmp was the first week of October....
I'm just going to stay positive and hope for the best. I will let you know tomorrow night what my second level was, thank you so much for your comment, means a lot....

That level could be normal in week 5, 6, or 7, so it doesn't tell you much.  Normal ranges of hCG in early pregnancy are very, very wide:

Week
  4           40 - 6,230
  5           620 - 29,300
  6           3.660 - 108,000
  7           10,900 - 148,000

I had my levels draw again and it went up to 33,000. I go Tuesday for another u/s. They still told me that it was a 50/50 chance...Over the weekend I have been spotting again and now having lower left pain....jezz what else could go wrong???!!!
