by pearl451, Jan 16, 2007 12:00AM
Just wondering if anyone else measured small at this point. My belly is measuring @ 31 weeks when I am actually 34 weeks. I am on bed rest & go for a sono on thurs but now I am worried!

Hey Pearl, I was wondering about you today! I am sorry that you are on bedrest. I measured small with my last one and everything turned out okay with her. She was a little on the small side but very healthy! Will this be a sonogram to see how big the baby is getting?

If they only measured your belly, then they don't know that well. I've read that the measurements are just an estimation, and not that necessarily that accurate, especially later on when the baby may be dropping. The sonogam will be more informative.

Thanks. I measured right on the whole time with my first. And until 4 weeks ago with this baby. My OB did a sono at 31 weeks but could not get a head measurement B/C head is so low. Fluid levels were perfect. Stomach & arm measured at 32 weeks 5 days at that point. I hope it is just how she is laying.

If she's really low, the belly measurement is especially inaccurate. At least that's what I read- that it goes up until the baby starts to drop, and then the number goes backwards again. I measured 29 last week, and I'm 34 weeks along. The doctor said that was just right.
