Menses comes 3wks early

Hi, I just gave birth on 25th of June. My postpartum menses came on abt 6wks after, which was on 30th of Aug and ended on 5th of Sept. I had a healthy period that lasted for 7 days. Unfortunately, I had bleeding again on 12th of Sept. I wondered if this is another period which cannot be, as it comes 1wk after the last one???I had intercourse with my husband after birth for the first time on the 18th of Aug. It was a painful one. It was also painful for the second time and the last time we had was on 10th Sept,in which there isnt much pain as before. Could u pls advise me on this bleeding that comes too soon?Is it a sickness, normal esp after birth?Many thx

I got my period about six weeks after giving birh even though I was breastfeeding exclusively. I was told it was unusual but not abnormal and not to worry. I continued to "spot" after intercourse (and when I say spot I mean kind of a mini-period) for about 3 months after also. Again unless there was pain, I was told there was nothing to worry about. Did you have a difficult delivery (episiotomy, cervical tears etc?) I'm sure that could cause bleeding. Did you see your doctor for your 6 week postpartum checkup yet, or ask him/her what they think about the bleeding? Until then, try not to worry about it too much. It takes awhile to get everything back on track :)     Good Luck!
