Menstration after C-Section

It has been 4-1/2 months since I had a C-section, I spotted a little after delivery and since then I have had no bleeding.  Is this normal?  I did take a pregnancy test and it was negative.  I have been breast-feeding the whole time too, will this affect it?

you should have had the inital bleeding right after you had the baby. After that since you are breastfeeding, you could have no periods untill the baby is no longer breastfeeding, or you have weaned him/her some

I know when you get a c-section they clean the linen of your uterus so you normally don't bleed that much if not at all. Also when you breastfeed you might not bleed during your period because of the hormones that you are producing for breastfeeding. If you get to concerned I'd call your doctor and ask them because there going to be willing to answer any question you have.  You'll also get the answer your more than likely looking for. tracy

Yes it will.  I had a c-section with my 3rd. and I breastfed.  You don't get the bleeding after the birth like you do when you deliver vaginally.  I was so surprised.  I asked my doctor and he said that is because he took everything out when he cleaned the uterus. With my first that I breastfed I didn't get a period for over a year.  It was great.LOL.  By my third one I got it around 8mos. and with my last I started a couple weeks after having her and then stopped for a couple of months.  By 6mos. I was having them again.  Hope this helps

After my c-section I bled a lot, like when I delivered vaginally, as you can see there are many variences on what can happen.

since i wasn't menstrating after a c-s birth i hope it's not risky to have an unsafe sex?
