Messed up Birthcontrol pills....OOPS!

I am currently on BC to regulate bleeding after 2 D&C's.  Anyways the other day I popped out my pill and it hit the counter and went right down the drain....OOPS!  I didnt know what to do so I figured Id just stop the pill and start fresh next month.  Problem is now the bleeding has started again.  Its not heavy at all but I think it was really dumb on my part to just stop like that.  I was suppose to wait until november to ttc again, and stay on the pill till then.  Do you think this will screw up my cycle??  Has anyone else stopped taking the pill 8 days into there pack??  If so what happened??

You could have just waited until the next day to take that one.  You didnt have to STOP IT!!  But since you did, this is why you are bleeding again!  I never stopped mine in the middle.  I did stop when I was finished with the pack I was on.

You should have just taken the next days' pill.  Then, you would have just finished your pack one day earlier than planned.

Now that you have stopped the pack, it is not unexpected to have bleeding.  This is withdrawl (withdrawal) bleeding (a.k.a. another period).  I suspect you should be able to start a fresh pack on this coming Sunday however you should definitely call your doctor to confirm.

You could call your Dr. on this one, but as long as the bleeding is not heavy, you probably don't need to. I would just start the new pack in 4 more days. Don't go back to the old pack, or you'll screw your cycle up more. You may want to save the old pack for "spares" though.

this is normal I was on bc for 7yrs.I also was confused I finally changed to the patch then to the ring then got preg,and m/c.What you should of done was take the next day pill but not stop.Evrytime I would forget or change bc I would bleed also.It is very important for you to use some kind of bc especially after d&c.I'm using condems.I would bleed inbetween bc but would always get Af on time.But you should ask dr. just in case. The dr. said to wait until nov. to ttc.  Im getting so fed up.  I miscarried june 21 then had a D&C that eve.  Then a month later I hemmoreghed and ended up in the ER.  Then aug 28 had another D&C because of leftover afterbirth.  Now I have to wait till nov??  I feel fine...why cant I just ttc now??  My dr. doesnt seem to care at all and never does any follow ups.  Im sick of all this waiting and losing babies!!

If you are really that frustrated, you could always try a new Dr. I think your Dr. is right though. You may feel fine, but I bet he wants your uterine lining to be in good shape before you get pregnant again so that you are less likely to m/c. How many days have you been bleeding? If it's been 4 or more days, you can just start the new pack of pills. You'll be a little ahead of where you started.
