Miscarriage - No Signs

by psyched2BaMom, Sep 27, 2007 01:12PM
If you had a miscarriage and didn't experience any of the regular signs such as cramping or bleeding how would you know?  What i mean is could you miscarry and not even know it for months and months?  Would you still have regular pregnancy symptoms if you had already miscarried such as tender breasts, tiredness, urinating a lot??

I am not sure about all the other preg. symptoms. I have never miscarreied, but have a friend who has several times and she never had any cramping, bleeding or anything. One month she went in at 7 wks preg. and the baby was fine, the next month she went at 11 wks. and the baby hadn't grown since the last time she was there. No heartbeat was found or anything.  So when that's the case, I don't think you know until you are going in to listen on the doppler for the heartbeat.

When that happens it is called a missed miscarriage. That's when a D&C is usually done , because you don't expell it on your own sometimes.

I had no symptoms of a miscarriage.  I went in for my very first ultrasound and they told me our baby did not have a heart beat.  I chose to pass the baby naturally, instead of doing the D&C.  It was not until a month later that I actually miscarried the baby.  I have read that is common to miscarry and not even know it.  I will say this about my particular situation: After I had my ultrasound, my baby wasn't living so I was still carrying the baby even though no growth was taking place.  Yes, I still had my symptoms but they slowly changed back.  It was more of a gradual process, not something that happened right away.  My tender breasts were the first thing to go.
