Miscarriage- Spotting

by Lilyb, Dec 05, 2007 07:05PM
After waiting longer thn 4 weeks for natural miscarriage, I finlly started spotting yesterday. The problem is it doesnt increase at all. I was expecting it to start as spotting and then get worse untill I finally pass the tissue, but it didnt. Now I am worried that i might never pass the tissue naturally. Any one started with spotting? and how long it took you to pass the tissue?

thanks

Are you getting your HCG levels checked regularly?  My miscarriage lasted over 8 weeks...it alternated between spotting, passing clots and then nothing at all.  Make sure you get your levels checked to make sure it goes back down to zero - or get an ultrasound to make sure that all of the tissue has passed.

HI, I waited 3 weeks for my miscarriage and have only recently had mine on the 4th of dec.  I had no spotting for the entire time until 3 days before the real event.  I sarted to spot on Sat and Sun with no increase in volume or change of colour from dark brown, then on Mon the volume got a bit heavier (still only using a liner) and more reddish in colour.  Then on Tuesday it got very heavy (using a pad now) and had lots of clots with cramps until that afternoon when i finally passed the sac / tissue. The bleeding has stopped now, only 2 days later.

I think you will be fine but like it has already been said everyone is different and make sure you are having your levels checked to see they are going down.  Also i read a really great site that said if you have a break from bleeding and spotting for a few days and then it starts again and continues to do this for a while it may mean you have some tissue left which can cause infection so tell your doc right away.

I just had my levels tested today and they have gone down to 14 from 453 on Friday.  Hope this helps.

Lily, I've been checking to see how you're doing.  You have a doctor's appointment coming up soon, don't you?

Thanks for your responses. Sharon, thanks for checking on me.  I have an appointment today. I called them and let them know that I have spotting, but the nurse told me to come in anyway. I am going to ask my doctor to check my levels, and discuss the genetic testing etc.
I'll keep you posted.
