Miscarriage? Please give advice!!!

by Chelly2007, May 05, 2007 12:00AM
Hello everyone,
Well, i found out i was pregnant on 4-17 and on wednesday i went to the bathroom and i started to bleed, so I called my ob/gyn and she said go to the ER so I did and I was there for 10 hours with my cathider and all, they did an ultrasound and a transvaginal. My hCG level was 561. I thought I was around 7 or 8 weeks but the M.D said i was approximatly 6, but he could not hear the heartbeat and did not see any movement. So he told me to follow up with my ob/gyn on friday 5-4 and have her do anothwr u/s and have her test my levels again. So she did and she said 4 six weeks, it looks very abnormal and that there is a 90% chance that i will have a misscariage and my levels were going to come back the same as wednesday. But they didnt they came back as 732, my 1st Q. is Is that a normal level, being that it did not double in 2 days? And im still bleeding, but not heavy, only when i wipe. Im supposed to go back on mon and check my levels again. Im just scared because ive had  blood clots come out in the last couple of days, but no cramping or any symptoms, except bleeding. Has anyone else had anything like this?

what bothers me the most is that i dont know what to think, i have so many signs, saying im going to miscarry, but at the same  time, there isnt. i just need a little  bit of hope.

i have to say that i had a m/c in Aug.04 and i had no signs of anything going wrong and then i started bleeding and within 10-15 min i passed a very large blood clot and that was it had had some bleeding after that but nothing heavy. as far a m/cs go i was lucky to not be in any pain physically. When i was preg with my son i had what they called a subcronic bleed behind the baby in my uterus and that i may have some bleeding with that but i never did. Many women have bleeding and go on to have healthy babies i really hope that that is your case. Please keep us posted.

Good Evening,

I'm not sure if my story will help or comfort you but I will explain what I went through, perhaps your baby is still well. Around March 18th I took a home test to discover that I was pregnant. Ten days later I started to spot and then...I stated to bleed like I have never done before. Not only bleed but passed large red clots, (which I believed to be baby tissue) That Friday I went to the ER. After an ultrasound was complete I was told that I was having a miscarriage and to follow up with my doctor. That Monday after another exam, the doctor heartlessly explained that I was for sure having a miscarriage. For 26 more days I bled. Just like a heavy to moderate period. I kept thinking, "How long will this bleeding and miscarriage last?" However, one day the bleeding was unlike anything I had before...back to the doctor..a different doctor...Guess what!  He did a ultrasound and...there was the baby! Apparently I have a multiaged subchronic hematoma and that is what is causing the massive bleeding. It's an abruption of the placenta. Although you may be experiencing bleeding maybe there is a chance you are going through what I am. I am happy the baby is still alive but the outcome of hematoma births I have been told is a 50/50 chance...

Did they see a hb at the follow up us?  It doesn't sound like you will have a positive outcome, however, miracles do happen and many women on here have stories of them.

well when i went to the hospital they told me that they could not hear a heartbeat. and he told me that i would miscarry in the next 48 hours, that was this past wed. im still bleeding but not heavy, and im passing tissue, but its very very small, but the passing tissue stopped yesterday.I have to follow up with my ob/gyn 2morrow and im scarred that im gonna go back and do an ultrasound and nothing will be there. What doesnt make sence is that the doctor told me that there was no heartbeat and he said that i would have a miscarriage in 48 hours, but to check in with my doctor on fri. My hCG level then was 560, and i went to the doctor it was 732, he told me that if i was going to miscarry, my levels would not continue to rise. So i go back tomorrow and she is going to do another u/s and take blood  for my levels. my question is how far alon g do most women have to be to hear the heartbeat? And what about movement?
