I'm sorry for your loss. Surprisingly miscarriages happen in about 1 out of 4 pregnancies (most of the time the womanWomen's way doesnt even know she is pregnant). I know lots of people whose first pregnancy ended in miscarriage as well. Infact it happened to me.
im sorry. if u r ttc, do not be discouraged by whatever happens though and i agree with alaysha as reported 25% of pregnancies ended in m/c. but there r also some who nvr experience any mc in their life! wat a blessing! doctors can only help us tru our physical recovery.. there is little doctors could do to prevent m/c themselves too...
Miscarriage is more common that once thought. I don't know if it that necessarily pertains to first pregnancies or not although I experienced one during my first one. I too wish doctors would be more supportive when we go through this. In my experience at least the first time, the doctor almost seemed callous to the situation. I hated it! So sorry for your loss & I'm sorry to read that you have Lupus. That must be really hard to deal with. I hope you get the kind of compassion that you deserve from your doctor.
I have lupus and I take Lovenox and baby aspirin. I had two miscarriages before I've managed to carry this one successfully so far. I think they "tiptoe" around it because sometimes they aren't 100% sure.
Also - you may want to get testing done to make sure you are healthy enough to continue a pregnancy and that you don't have the lupus anticoagulant or the anti phospholipid syndrome or some other complication of lupus that would predispose you to renal failure if you got pregnant.
Thanks for all your condolences for one. For two, the doctors haven't said for sure that it was a miscarriage but they couldn't detect anything on the ultrasound so he's saying that it could have been a really early pregnancy so he's going to test my hCG levels again in 48 hours, Saturday. Again, thank you for the condolences. For Elyz1214, Thank you for the information on Lupus, I will be sent to a professional who deals with high risk pregnancies and Lupus finally to be taken care of. I'm sure if I ask this doctor that I'm dealing with will tell me to just not give up which could end up in me risking my life, which doesn't exactly bother me, but more puts the doctor at a ignorance standing with me.
