Miscarriage or not??

Here's my thing. I am on my 5th pregnancy. I had an abortion, a miscarriage, 2 normal pregnancies that gave me 2 beautiful children, and now this one. From my LMP i would be 9w4d. Today is Saturday...on Tuesday night I went to the ER cuz of some spotting. They checked my quant levels and they were 37995. Nothing was really said, they were just concerned that it may be an ectopic. Friday afternoon I got my quant levels checked again and they went down to 35720. Friday night I was back in the ER for spotting again. (It had stopped from Tuesday night till Friday night.) They gave me an ultra sound which said I was only 6 weeks. And my levels had gone back up to 38000. They were able to see the fetus in my uterus. Everything was ok. It was only 6 weeks old instead of almost 10 weeks. And they were not able to get a heartbeat. My dates could have been wrong?? They are telling me it is a miscarriage, and that the fetus stopped growing at 6 weeks. I haven't passed anything yet, if it is a miscarriage. How long will it take? Is there any possiblity that it is NOT a miscarriage?? Could the fetus still seriously be in me for almost a month before having anything happen? What can happen to me if I dont pass it? Anyone, please..I have never been so stumped before.

Can I still be pregnant hcg 4200 then dropped to 1700 bleed heavy for 2weeks Dr said I miscarriage but I'm still gaining weight in my stomach and still feel like I'm pregnant

hi i just wanted to share what has happened to me i have had 4 late m/c and one still birth and have three wonderful children this is my ninth pregnancy and i had spotting and my levels dropped from 130940 to 75000 had spotting and cramping the er Dr said i was having a m/c and and that i should think about having a d&c well i wanted an u/s done had it and there was a baby and a hb i should have been 10 weeks + but baby was measuring nearly 9  er Dr still said i would m/c well didn't like that answer so went to see my family Dr she looked at all the u/s my levevls and said that i must of been pregnant with twins she said as long as my levels were going up she would be ok well they did not much had norther u/s done week later should be 11 weeks 6 days so nearly 12 weeks baby is only at 10weeks 6 days and ok some times miracles do happen not sure if this helps or not but i will keep you in my thoughts and prayers that all will be well keep us posted god bless

a similar thing happened to me with my 3rd pregnancy, i went for my 12wk u/s on 1/30/07 and was told my baby only measured 8wks instead of 12 and there was no heartbeat i had no pain or bleeding nothing to suggest something was wrong i was told to return a week later for another u/s this time i was told they thought my baby had grew 1-2mm but couldnt be 100% because they were using a different machine so i had to return a week later again for another u/s this time i was told the baby had started to get smaller only measured 4-5wks so it was definetely a miscarriage i decided to wait for it to happen naturally and i didnt pass the sac with my baby in until 2/28 when i should have been about 17wks afterwards i ended up with an infection and had to take antibiotics for a wk. hope this helps and i hope everything turns out fine for you. good luck

i'm sorry to hear the pain you are going through...i had a similar situation with my very first pregnancy and unfortunately it did not turn out the way i would have liked...i was 11 weeks and started spotting (very minimally) one day at work so i went to the hospital and an u/s was done that indicated the baby was only 6 weeks and no heartbeat detected...i also thought how could i go a month with the baby after he/she stopped growing without passing anything but evidently it does happen...my OB was worried and suggested a d&c since i still had not started bleeding (other than the minimal brown spotting)...i hope you have a miracle...take care of yourself

I had a similar thing happen to me I was prefnant for the 3rd time after 2 healthy children and did't think there was a problem. I got to 11 weeks and started spotting. When I had an u/s they told me I only had what was probably 5week gestation not 11. I went on the m/c naturally a couple of days later but if I hadn't have I would have been given a d'n'c. I had an empty egg sac and no fetus sothe fact that you have a fetus would suggest a little hope. It may have been too soon to see a heart beat. I would ask for another u/s before making any decisions. Good Luck I hope all goes well.
