Missed Period

I just recent,y had Surgery on August 14th and the frist day of my last period was July 29th. I was told that the prgenancy test they took at the hospital was negative, but I didn't come on my period, on August 24th, like I was supposed to. Can the surgery be a result of my missed period or should I take a pregnancy test?

Take a test to be safe, what did you have surgery for if you don't mind me asking? Do you think it was something that could mess with your period?

I had surgery for ovarian cysts. But during my last two pregnancies I've had ovarian cysts. So I don't know what to think. I'm trying to wait it out and see if my period comes in a week or so.
