Molar pregnancy concern

Molar pregnancy concern

When I had my first doctor visit to confirm pregnancy, she said based on my last period, I was about 8 weeks(at the time of the appt) which would put me at 11 weeks or so now. Last week my doctor tried to see if we could hear a heart beat, nodda. So one of the techs made an early ultra sound for me for today. I went in and they did the ultra sound (they did it vaginally which I thought was weird). The tech that did the ultra sound wasn't very expressive about what we were seeing on the screen. The only thing she pointed out to us was the ovaries and the sac. And when we were done she said that from the looks of it, I'm actually only 7 weeks not 11 like my doctor thought. And all she would say was that she was concerned about that, with no explanation as to why. She left so I could change back into my clothes and when she came back she said that was sending over the ultra sound pics to my doctor and that she called to let her know what she saw and that I had to go see my doctor a little later on. When at the clinic and talking to my doctor she explained everything for me. She said that in the pictures she couldn't see the fetal pole which usually means it's a molar pregnancy. But she had the lab take blood so they could check my hcg levels to confirm. She also didn't understand some of the things on the paperwork they sent over with the pictures because they lacked so much information so she said she was going to get to the bottom of it. After I left I started looking up molar pregnancy. I found a lot of information on it and it's very helpful. But there are some things that I just don't get. I haven't had any symptoms that go along with molar pregnancies. I've been tired more than usual but that's supposed to be normal with pregnancies. Up till a few hours ago, I thought I was having a perfect pregnancy. I haven't had any morning sickness at all, no slight spotting, nothing (except breast soreness that one I definitely have). I also have low blood pressure right now. My normal has always been 120/80 give or take a point or 2, last week it was 110/44 and today it was 104/50. Has anyone on here ever had a molar pregnancy that can help me with this?????????? I have no idea what to expect or what will happen once it's confirmed. All my doctor said that if it is, then she wants it taken care of instead of letting my body miscarry it and letting it pass on it's own. Can anyone please help me???

Just got a call from my doctor. She talked with the doctor that was on call where I had the ultra sound done. They said that they haven't had a chance to go over the ultra sound pictures yet to confirm anything. But that she should have the results by tomorrow. But she also wants me to go back in on Monday for another blood test so they can compare the one from today to Mondays. And that I have to go in for another ultra sound again next week on Thursday. One thing I forgot to ask in my origonal post is that anyone that has been in the same situation, have you had it turn out not to be a molar pregnancy and turn into a normal pregnancy??? I'm only 24 and my fiance is 26 and this would be our first baby so we were pretty devistated when the doctor told us about the problem we are facing.

I just wanted to say that I am sorry you are going through this! I only know of one person who has gone through a molar pregnancy. She had no idea until she was in the 2nd trimester. She had full blown symptoms and everything. It was really hard on her and her husband. I am happy to report she is now pregnant with a baby boy and due in June!

I know it is tough to wait but sadly only time will tell! Hang in there!

The main tough thing about molar is the waiting period before trying again, apparently it's a year.  I hope the next ultrasound shows everything normal.  But if it is not, go with your doctor's recommendation about a D&C.  I'm sorry if that is it.  Crossing my fingers for you, let's go baby, be all right next week!

Well I've got some good news and some more bad news. Good news is that it's not molar. I had my blood drawn last Thursday and got my results back Friday. My hcg level was around 12,600. But I had to go in today to have another test to compare it to Thursdays results. The bad news is that my hcg level dropped down to 7000. I'm glad it's not a molar pregnancy but no matter what way you look at it, I'm still losing the baby.
