More Miscarriages

hi, You might remember me from a little bit ago. I just came back because I am going through my fourth miscarriage now. Whats worse it seems like the doctors don't really care. I do have an appointment for tomorrow. but they havent taken any tissue to analyze for why I'm having misscarriages. Has anyone else had problems like this and how did you get the doctors to listen to you.

I'm really sorry about your losses. I've had two miscarriages and they have been devastating so I can imagine how much pain you must be in after four. I have a great doctor and he is taking the miscarriages very seriously. In fact, he is having my husband and I undergo genetic testing to rule out the possibility that we may be passing on some chromosomal abnormality. I think that you need to get your doctor to hear what you need. Be assertive and clear about your needs. After that, if he still doesn't take you seriously, then it's time to find a new doctor.

I agree with Cheti.  I had 2 miscarriages and my OB sent me to a fertility specialist (I'm 36) to see if they could figure out the problem.  They never took samples of the miscarriage tissue, as far as I know.  But we did have all kinds of blood work (hubby & myself) to rule out any genetic problems. They should also check your progesterone levels. They decided my progesterone was low and so I was put on suppositories for the first 10 weeks. I am now 23 weeks and doing well.

Hugs, hugs, hugs. Many of us have gone through what your going through and I completely sympathize.  They can only take samples of the fetal tissue if you actually lose the baby at the hospital, where they will do a pathology report, but if it is a complete miscarriage they may not have had anything to test. My first miscarriage there was nothing to test, the second I lost at the hospital and we got a full report on what went wrong. I agree with the previous posts, go find another dr and get some kind of testing done with your husband

I want to first start by saying I am SORRY for your loss! I had a miscarriage with my first baby, and I know it doesnt get any easier!  I must say though you are ONE STRONG WOMAN! I think the doctors are being assholes, they were absolutely when I was going through mine as well. I waited in the hospital for 4 hours before I got pissed off and left. They dont know why people have them, and that is good enough for them. They dont understand, and dont care to because it is not them. I would complain to anyone who would listen, and I think that if your up to it, you should definitely give them a bitching of a lifetime!! Just whatever you do, don't give up hope! You'll find a doctor worth a ****, and You WILL have a baby one day! Lots of Prayers for you!

thank you so much. I have an appt today with my doctor to se if he will at least refer me to an gyno (scary that i don't have one but we have a real shortage of doctors here) anyway I just can't believe when I called my doctor to tel him i had started o bleed all he sad was that "there was nothing I could do now and that i should stay home and rest." He told me not to btoher going into the hospital!! I mean I realize that you can't stop a miscarriage but its just that he cpuld've had me in to try to see if there was anythign to test I mean 4 miscarriages I would love to know why this is happening. I mean I'm only 21 and three of my miscarriages where in the last 12 months. I think I will have to try to get more assertive or find antoher doctor.

Sorry for your loss, I cant imagine 4 miscarriages one was enough!! Yes sometimes doctors seem cold. I was reading your post and noticed you had 3 in the last 12 months. My suggestion is maybe you are trying too soon after and not letting your body (uterus) rebuild itself.  I was told after my miscarriage to wait for 6 months before trying again.

i'm sure her current doc is compitent enough to give her roagam shots if not he shouldn't be practicing at all!

the first thing they do when you are pg is take your blood and type it.  they would know right away if she was rh- or not.
and it is only a problem if she's -

i have a couple of questions.

1. did the babies die in utero?

2. or was it spontaneous labor and still born babies, to small to survive.

reason why i ask is if they are dieing in utero it could be blood problems such as RH factor, or your body may see the babies as forieng objects and begins attacking them.

If spontaneous labor, then it could be incompitent cervix, so you may need a cerclage put in when you do get preganat before the earliest miscarriage. I'm sorry for your loss but i would ask about these if you haven't already.
