Morning After Pill

My friend's doctor told her that after taking the morning after pill if you get your period right away you were pregnant (or would have been had you not taken the pill), but if you don't get your period right away but instead get it on your normal cycle you weren't pregnant in the first place (or wouldn't have gotten pregnant had you not taken the pill).  Is this true?  Is there any way to tell if you would have gotten pregnant had you not taken the pill?  I have read that the morning after pill causes ovulation preventing fertilization so it seems as if this above is false; however, it also says that fertilization may occur but the egg just can't attach to the uterus so maybe the above is true?!?  Does anyone know if you can really tell if you would have gotten pregnant?

I remember in college a girlfriend of mine took the morning after pill and she bled a lot.  Later, I took it, and I did not bleed.  Either way, what difference does it make?  If it's taken it's taken... someone takes it in order to ensure they do not keep a fertilized egg.  Don't sweat over whether you bleed or not.  Just think of why you took it and be confident with your decision.  Best of luck.

I also took the morning after pill one time when I was young and never bleed.  I'm not sure if it means you are pregnant if you bleed.

I work in a pharmacy where we dispense these pills all the time. There just a stronger strength of birth conrtol. They have the same effects as the regular bc pills. The most common side effect is spotting in between periods. If they were taken as directed within the right amount of time (no later than 72 hours) everything should be fine.

it is a stroger bc pill which causes the wall to thicken faster stoppping the egg implanting , bleeding makes no difference at all . it is common to bleed when mistakes are made with normal bc .
