Morning Sickness

Morning Sickness

I'm 5 weeks along and am very worried that I have not experienced any pregnancy symptoms, including morning sickness yet. With my 4 previous m/c's I never had any morning sickness and knew that that was a bad sign. I have had one successful pregnancy and now have a 20 month old, but while I was pregannt with him, I had a lot of morning sickness (although I can't seem to remember when it started). With my history, should I be concerned that I haven't had any morning sickness by now? Thank you.

5 weeks is still VERY early to feel pregnancy syptoms (symptoms).  Many women don't even know they are pregnant at that point!  Also not all women have morning sickness, I didn't have any in my first and hardly any in my second.  Stay postive and try not to stress!

Good Luck!

My ms didn't start until about 6-7 weeks.

Some women don't get ms whatsoever, even though they've had it with prior pg.  Every single pg is different, even in the same woman.

Good luck!!

Not having morning sickness is not a bad sign.  Only 50% of women experience ms during their pregnancy.  I am 6 weeks and three days, I haven't had any signs of pregnancy except sore boobs, no ms.  Any pregnancy website will tell you not having ms is as completely normal as having ms.  Also, not all your pregnancies are going to be the same.  You may have had ms with your previous child, and none with this one.  Lots of women can vouch for that, each pregnancy is different.  HTH and have a healthy 9 months!

Hi, with my son 20 years ago a never had any ms. With my daughter 11 years ago I start my ms at 4 weeks and last till I was 20 weeks. Don't worry about ms it is different with each and every pregnancy.

Although m/s is said to be a good sign that the pg is going well, not having m/s doesn't at all mean the pg isn't going well. I had a sucessful, healthy first pg with no m/s whatsoever. And I just m/c this past week and had nausea with this pg that failed. Do your best not to get hung up on these things or you'll make yourself crazy. Best of luck for a healthy 9 months.

I have had 7 pregnancies. I get morning sickness starting at different times with each of them (usually between 6 and 7 weeks). With my current pregnancy it didn't start till 7.5 weeks. I was starting to get concerned and research "no pregnancy symptoms" then WHAM I got it so bad that I was in bed for the next 2 months. I had it till 18 weeks. It was aweful.

Also, 2 of my 7 pregnancies ended in miscarriage. I was just as sick with both of them, so it doesn't necesarrily matter if you are sick.

I have a 4 yr old dd and with her I had not a single sign of any kind of symptons to prove I was pg.  No morning sickness no cravings no nothing.  The only thing was that AF didnt come well she did the first 2 mos I was pg with her but after that it stopped and the only thing is that I showed big time!  I m/c when I was 6 wks along and I can tell you I had every sympton alive in just 6 wks.  Morning sickness like it should have been called all of the time sickness, so I wouldnt worry much about it it wont help you if you keep worrying.  Every pregnancy is different.

I'm in my first pg with twins. I have lots of literature that suggests my pg symptoms should be even more exaggerated than most single pregnancies. I am 8 wks and have had no morning sickness. So far so good...

With my first pregnancie (ended in miscarrige) i didnt get morning sickness at all. With my second, i got MS at 6 to 7 weeks along and it lasted right up until the hour i gave birth.

dont count not having MS as a sign of M/C. the bottom line is, not all women have it, and those that dont should be fricking happy they dont so dont wish for it lol and those that do, it can start as early as when u miss ur period and usually ends after the first trimester ( 3 months) or can last the whole pregnancie. you may just get it soon, u r still early too.

am sure u r fine. good luck!

Speaking of nausea and vomiting..I'm so worried b/c I'm sooo nauseaus all the time! Yesterday I could only keep one bagel down the whole day. Everything seems undesirable, and when I just eat it anyway,it's back up w/in 15 mins. I'm especially worried about keeping fluids down. I can't even seem to drink anything. My poor husband has given me juices, sodas, club soda and water- even made a ginger tea last night. Nothing!

I never had any morning sickness with my pregnacy. I only felt very hungry all the time. Each pregnancy is different so I wouldn't worry if morning sickness is your only concern. If you are really concerned consult your doctor.

If it gets to the point that you're starving yourself, go see the doc.  They have medication for ms that should help.  Be sure you try to take vitamins since you're not able to eat much and you might be dehydrated.  It's good to go to the doc soon as to not deprive your growing child of vital nutrients.  I've heard the medication works great.  Good luck.  (Wheat Thins are a god-send right now, ms hit hard a couple of days ago for me!)
