Moving Baby

I 10m DD is still sleeping in our room in her crib.  She still is not sleeping through the night.  I was wondering when those of you who had your baby sleeping in your room, when you moved them out.  I don't remember with my other two.  One is 11y today and the other is 8.5y so it has been awhile.  My thing is that she is going to have to share a room with her 11y sister.  The 8.5y old is a boy. We only have a three bedroom house.  I'm thinking the older she get the harder it will be to move her but I don't want her to wake her sister either because she has school.  What's your opinion?

I moved my daughter out of our room as soon as she grew out of the bassinet, but she was our first and we had a bedroom available.  I was just wondering if you think perhaps part of the reason your 10 month old is not sleeping through the night yet is because she knows you are close. Maybe moving her out would encourage all night sleeping.  I know this might be awful for your 11 year old, but could she maybe sleep in the living room or something just for 2 or 3 days while you experiment with how your ten month old would do out of your room? Wish I had more advice to offer.  Good luck!

I was wondering that myself on the sleeping through the night.  Because if I remember right my other two were out of our rooms after a couple of months and they were sleeping through the night much sooner than she is now.

Yeah, I really wonder if that is part of it.  Instead of waking up occasionally and putting herself back to sleep, she is probably waking up, seeing and wanting you and then being actually awake!  Maybe moving her will be just the trick and everything will go really well.

I would try it over a long break, Thanksgiving or Christmas may even be better on your older daughter. Good luck!
