Moving a child

I was talking to the lady at the acura dealership who we are friends with, her son was due the same time as dommy but her son came early so hes a few months older than dommy. maybe 1 or 2 if even that. she was talking about how her son loves to sleep in his new toddler bed. Dominics crib will convert but when are you supposed to make that transition form crib to toddler bed?

It really depends on how comfortable you are with him being able to get out of bed on his own, how mobile he is...etc.  For mine it was usually around 2 -2 1/2 that we did it.
It wouldn't hurt to try it for a night or two and see how he does.  If he gets freaked out, wait a few weeks and try again.

I think it really depends on the child. I know some people that didnt move their kids until age 3 on the other hand, my nephew switched around 18 months cause he kept climbing out of the crib. I switched Noah at 24 months just because I was pregnant and I needed the crib for the new baby.
I dont think there is any rush, especially if he is sleeping well in his crib, why ruin a good thing. Making the switch can be a BIG challenge.

yeah the thing is his crib turns into the bed...and goodness knows i dont want to have to take it apart and do it again. hes not really sleeping good at all in his crib. hes not sleeping through the night. wether its a droped baba or bordem im not sure. but going by what you all are saying i should at least wait till hes two

Yeah, I would wait then. You dont want him up in the middle of the night getting out of his bed, at least when he wakes up now he is stuck in his crib, not roaming the house lol.

I converted Lily's at 17 mo's. Not because I wanted to but like GRose said, I couldn't keep her in. She was climbing out. It was a safety issue.  Pleasantly surprised she was good in her room at bed time. I did buy a video monitor and you MUST child proof it completely. Secure furniture to walls, outlets covered, blinds cords out of reach.  If He's not climbing out, good for you. DON'T do it :0)
