Mucinex for ttc

by April1113, Feb 23, 2007 12:00AM
Sorry to keep taking up space but I had a question about using Mucinex for ttc.  I have been taking it for a couple of days due to a cold, how long should I continue to take it for ttc?  Just until ovulation?

I would take in until "O" if I were you....I have heard you should use the blue box...and only if you have trouble with CM....hope this helps I used it 2 cycles and did see a little bit of change but not huge change.  Good luck.

Blue box?  I didn't know it came in different boxes, my sister had some at her house and gave it to me!!  Maybe I should check at the drug store...  Any other suggestions that may help us?

Mucinex is "guaifenesin". It is also the ingredient in Robitussin.  It is a secretion thinner, and it works for your cervical fluid also.  You can get it at Wal-mart (or probably any drug store too, their brand)as Equate brand "Tussin".  It is less than 3.00 for a 8 oz bottle.  Make sure when you take any of these that the ONLY ingredient is Guaifenesin with nothing else added.  I used it this month and took 2 teaspoons every 4 hours for about 6 or 7 days before during and after O.  My friends swear by it and say they have gotten pregnant the first month using it.
