Mucus plug and TMI!!!!!!

Hi ladies- I am now 18 weeks pregnant ad I feel great. Yesterday i noticed a lage clump of mucus when I went to the bathroom. ABout quarter sized or larger. There was  no blood. Should I be worried about this?

With my pregnancies I never lost my mucus plug.  I do remember having some discharge with my pregnancies though.  Unless it is followed by blood or fluid, I think you will be fine. In a good pregnancy, would be way to soon to loose the mucus plug.  Unless you feel funny or have the blood, I would just check with your dr at your next appt.  Good luck.

It might be just some mucousy discharge, which can happen from time to time.  If it continues or if you start getting crampy feelings, fluid leakage, or bleeding, call your doctor right away.

Of course, the thing to do when something out of the ordinary is happening, is to call your doctor anyway, so you may just want to run this by him/her to be sure.

I lost my mucous plug, but it was much later.  I did have a little discharge throughout.  With the mucous plug, it was like a huge wad of snot about the size of a quarter about 3 weeks before my due date and then again about 2 weeks before.  The day I went into labor it was bloody and snotty looking.  I apologize if this is making anyone sick!  My water broke about 3 hours after the bloody show.  I bet it is just discharge for you, but you could call and see your doctor.  That is what I always did.  The only stupid questions are the ones you dont ask!  Good luck.

never TMI! for those of us who are nervously frantic about every second of pregnancy-- little comments about snotty bloody goop can actually be quite calming!
Thanks for sharing-- I didn't lose the plug and was induced for my first one, and at least now I know what to look for this time around, should it happen to me!  :)
