Multiple positive OPK

I have been getting VERY positive OPK's for 16 days now. (Test line twice as dark as the control line.) Prior to 13 days ago, they were negative.  HPT is Neg. and I am on day 3 of Menses.  Why elevated LH?

Ooooo, I'm glad you're here. I tried to post some info about it for you the day after I talked to you last time. The main reason for multiple pos opks is PCOS. I had 5 in a row this cycle, two a few days before that so I did some digging. I know I don't have PCOS, so there has to be another reason. the first month I used an OPK I had a positve surge the first day scheduled to test.  I tested twice that day to make sure it was correct.  Out of curiosity, I tested over the next 5 days- with my remaining test strips.  Similarily, as the days passed the test line got darker and darker.  I called the 1800 number for First Response and they said that a woman's Lh surge sometimes shows for a few days on the test strips.  The person did not have any comment on mine being for 6 days.  I did read in one on-line info. site that the OPK can be off for some people because it senses the surge a few days in advance rather than just 24-36 hours.  

This month I got a positve test on the first day I was supposed to test.  I read on antoher site that you should not take the test as soon as you get up in the morning- like I have done, because your body makes the Lh hormone at night, which may alter your results.  Therefore, a person should use the 2 urine of the morning to test.  I tested again that evening and had a positve result.  I tested the next two evenings and they were negative.  Therefore I think I did see my surge and now that I've ovulated the surge level when back down.
