My 14 week old baby is not eating

I'm a first time mom, and I have absolutely no idea what to do next.  My 14 week old baby just refuses to eat.  I try to breastfeed her and she would just latch on for a few minutes and then let go.  I try to feed her the formula, she starts screaming.  I also tried to spoon feed her the formua, she would just spit it back out.  My milk production is not that great due to the length of time she latches on.  I tried to pump and then feed her from the bottle, she did not take it.  I tried different formula and nipples but nothin works.  It's getting worse.  The past few weeks I could sneak in a few ounces when she was asleep, but now I can't even do that.  She 14 weeks and she has less than 10 oz of milk a day.  I talked to my pediatrician but she doesn't really recommend anything helpful.  We went in for her two month checkup and she gained weight then so the pediatrician kept saying that she's gaining weight so it's fine.  However, since the 2 month check up it's been getting worse.  Please let me know that this will get better...I don't know what else to do but cry when I try to feed her.  If anyone out there who have figured out a solution to the same problem...please help me out.  Thank you...

It sounds like colic, and yes it does get better.  But I'd also get with a lactation consultant right away.  La Leche League is a great resource if there is no lactation consultant who works with your pediatrician's practice.  I don't think your pedi should shrug off the issue when it's down to less than 10 ounces of milk a day.  In the meantime, pump, pump, pump and freeze the milk, you don't want to dry up, and if and when she gets eating you'll be glad to have the spare milk.  You might also try putting some probiotic powder into one of the bottles, to see if that helps her stomach and makes her more eager to eat because her stomach is bothering her less.  I would also ask the pedi about the possibility of an intesusseption (sorry about the spelling).  Finally, drop a note over to the ladies in the Breastfeeding forum, they have great ideas.

my local hospital offers a breast feeding support group with free advice, maybe yours does too.

It sounds to me like she may have reflux.  Have you noticed a lot of spitting up or does she make any gagging noises/faces?  You might want to make an appt with her pediatrician and discuss the options.  If her throat is raw from the stomach acid coming back up drinking may irritate it.  There are meds like zantac that babies can take to help.
