My 4 year old son has fever once a month or every other month.Not always other symptoms.

Hi! My 4 year old son has had recurrent fever since i can remember. Ever since he could walk around. He just turned 4. He has never been in daycare, however; we do go out in public everyday. I have a teenager, so we are on the go. He usually gets fever maybe once a month, or once every other month. He's doing well if it has been any longer than that between fevers. last month, he did have a cough/cold he caught from my mother who keeps him sometimes. Today, a month later and a week, he got 101 fever again, and complains of a headache. usually, he doesn't have any other symptoms,unless it 's a headache. His temp. is usually 101- 102.5. More often, just 101- 101.5. It normally lasts about 2 days, then hes perfectly fine!. He does eat well now. He even request vegetables and eats them. He usually takes a vitamin now as well. We are great handwashers too. He or I washes his hands everywhere we go.And, we always wash when we get home. I am so very careful. i don't get it. He does touch alot of things in public  though, before we can get to a sink! Anytime I have taken to his Doctor, he says it's a virus. He's never had strep or an ear infection or anything bad. i am worried now, as it has just been too often i think all together.Please help!

Ask the Dr to do a cat scan with contrast on his appendix. My son was haven the same symptoms and about two months ago the ers removed his and no more fevers. Good luck! My prayers are with u!
