My DD new behavior... I dont know what to think.

Ok My DD's new thing is grabbing the back of her diaper and her butt to the point it gets red. I thought maybe her diaper was bothering her, but shes been in the same brand diapers since birth. I dont know whats going on.

What do u all think? Should I worry?

I bet it itches, how are you cleaning her when you change her? I think parents tend to forget the urine seeps throughout the diaper and the backside needs a good wipe down as well.

Or it could be the diapers causing a problem.

Maybe she's figuring out that she is wet/dirty and wants to get it off? Is she old enough to start potty training?

My youngest does it when he is ready for a diaper change, even if he is just wet he does it and tells me he is 'stinky'. They just become more aware of how uncomfortable it feels I think.

My son started doing this shortly before he poops, I bring him to his potty chair to see if he wants to use it. He never actually goes in it but at least he is learning how to signal when he has to go...
I can't remember how old your daughter is but maybe it is her trying to tell you that she has to go to the potty or that she needs to be changed.

The funny thing is she does it with a brand new diaper so i know shes not wet.... must be itching. shes only 16 months so i dont think potty training is going to happen yet.

Quinn did the same thing. Her diaper was itching her.
