Ok, so the last couple of weeks my son refuses to sleep in his bed and only wants to sleep in my bed with me. Hes always slept in his own bed or crib since he was 4 months old. I'm not sure whats going on, but I'm getting tierd of him kneeing me in the back while im sleeping. I think it might have to do with the new baby on the way, because I have talked to him about it and he knows he has a littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys brother on the way. But he seemed excited about it, I even let him pick out some clothes for the baby when we go shopping. So do you think he maybe regressing with the bed thing? He has had alot of changes this year, with me and his dad finalizing the divorce (in Jan) and livingAdvanced care directives at two places, his dad is dating someone and they live together. I thought he was adjusting really well to all the changes, and he didnt seem bothered with it. Should I be worried? And how do I get him to go back to his own bed? sorry for the long post.
Don't worry! When he falls asleep pick him up and move him back into his own bed he'll get use to sleeping there again. I also had to start putting my daughter on my floor before she would go back to her bed when I was pregnant with my son, she eventually stopped coming into my room at night. Good Luck!
Is your son in a toddler bed? Did he just turn 3 or is he closer to 4? If he's closer to 3 and he's in a toddler bed maybe you can bring it in your room for now so he gets used to sleeping in it. Or maybe if you read him a story in his room while he's in his bed and then stay in there for a littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys while. Otherwise if he's closer to 4 or either way I would just keep putting him in his bed. Every time he gets out just say It's time for bed and put him back in. My daughter will be 2 next month and she is in a toddler bed cuz she can get out of her crib. Sometimes she gives me a problem and sometimes she doesn't. I try to get her to fall asleep in the livingAdvanced care directives room while my husband and I are watching tv. Then I put her in her bed.She sometimes ends up in my bed at 3 or 4 oclock am. Good luck!
Thanks for the response, hes almost 3 he'll be 3 Sept 29. I tried the moving him to his bed when he falls asleep then he wakes up while I'm moving him. I'm going to try a couple of things, thanks for the response.
Create a special ritual around bedtime. Mythusband tells our 3 year old a crazy story, and then says prayers. I read a story and give him a back rub when I put him to bed.
Praise him when he sleeps through the night.
If he is having bad dreams, invest in a cheap flashlight that he can turn on. Or put a sleeping bag on the floor by your bed and if he is scared he can sleep there. Guaranteed he will soon choose his comfy bad....this worked very well with our oldest who is now 16.
I really think this is just a phase and he will outgrow it soon.
Talk to him and see why he doesn't want to sleep in his bed. Something may be scaring him.
Tree branches outside his window? Are you using a night light?
