My cervial mucus has lasted 14 days so far...

** I'm sorry for making this so long. **

My husband and I got pregnant with our first baby on May 13, 2007 - on our first try.  It was my first ovulation after going off of the pill.  How awesome for us, right?

On June 19th, I had my first prenatal exam.  The transvaginal US showed my baby's strong heartbeat with the yolk sac next to it.  The site of my baby was breathtakingly beautiful.  I teared up.  According to the US, I was 6w3d.

On July 11, 2007, I spent the day in the ER due to a possible miscarriage. In the ER, two ultrasounds confirmed 'fetal demise'.  Our baby died.  I was 9w4d.  I was told that my baby stopped growing at 6 weeks, 5 days (two days after my first US).  I passed the baby at home the next morning.  My bleeding stopped 3 days later.

Four and a half weeks after my m/c, I started having cervical mucus, which I had in May when I actually got pregnant.  It has now been 14 days since I first saw the cervical mucus, and it's still there.  For the entire 14 days, the consistency hasn't changed.  It is still clear and stretchy.  My husband and I have been having unprotected sex, and I took a pregnancy test last Friday which was negative.

I really wish this mucus would go away.  I just want my period to come so that I can try getting pregnant again.

Any ideas why I have had cervical mucus for 14 days w/o a period anywhere in sight???  HELP.

Thanks!!

hi.

did you test when af was due? could be you maybe tested too early, have you any other symptoms beside the mucus? if you did test around af maybe it was too soon, if af doesnt arrive in next week test again. i was a week later with my af this preg before i got my bfp, but tested positive before af with my other pregnancies.
good luck

Hi Claire -

Unfortunately, I have no idea when my period is due. I haven't had one yet since my m/c in July.  I was told by my OB/Gyn that my period should arrive in 4-6 weeks after my miscarriage.  Not so!  I had cervical mucus instead at 4 1/2 weeks and continuing.  I did the HPT 12 days after I first saw the presence of cervical mucus.  That was just this past Friday. I got two BFN.  *slaps in the face*

This morning, I called the advice nurse at my OB's office.  She said that it is "highly possible to have cervical mucus w/o ovulating" after a m/c, abortion, or birth.  She said that there is no way for me to know when my period will arrive.  There was disruption in my pregnancy and now my hormones have to fall back into place.
